After about seven miles, there is a traffic island which is at the junction with the A49. Bear left at this island still following the A5. At the next traffic island, turn right towards Shrewsbury (signposted A5064 town centre/crematorium). Follow this road past Shrewsbury College and up to another island. At this island there is a large 'Nelson Column like statue' on your right. Take the 3rd exit (the football ground is signposted at this point) and this will take you down into Abbey Foregate. Follow the road down until you come to the Abbey (passing the Dun Cow pub on the left). The ground is further down on the right. Just before this on the left is the Abbey Foregate pay & display car park, which if you arrive early enough, then should be able to find spaces. If you continue past the ground and under the railway bridge, you will pick up signs for other town centre car parks.
