1. J Bainbridge
Height 5 foot 4 inches, weight 9st 7lb, age 23. Goalkeeper born in West Hartlepool. Played for several local
junior sides, before joining West in 1903-4. Second season with West. Played for the reserves until making his
first team debut in October 1904. Later played for local side Corinthians.
2. Thomas Hegarty
23 year old, weight 12st, 2lb, height 5ft 9. Local right full back who formerly played for West Hartlepool
Perseverance. Second season with West. Also had trials for Middlesbrough in the summer in 1904. Later played
for Stockport, Sunderland Royal Rovers, Hartlepools United, and Hearts.
3. Richard Hegarty
21 year old, weight 11st, height 5ft 8. Brother of Tommy and a left full back. Was previously with Belle Vue
Athletic and West Hartlepool Perseverance. Second season with West. Later played for Stockport, Sunderland
Royal Rovers, Hartlepools United and West Hartlepool St. Joseph’s. Died in service in WWI.
4. Fred Black
Height 5ft 7, weight 11st 8, age 22. Born in West Hartlepool, and was another who could play anywhere on the
pitch, including in goal, where he made a few appearances for West. Second season with West. Previously played
for Percy Villa, and later played for Hartlepools United.
5. J Hyslop
Age 26, height 5ft 8, weight 10st 8. Born in Scotland and was studying Sanitary Science in Edinburgh whilst
playing for West. 5th season with West. Captain of the team, and could play in any outfield position.
6. Sammy Stokes
Height 5ft 7 age 24 weight 11st 10. Played at half back, but also could play up front too. Third season with
West. Earlier played for West Hartlepool Perseverance. Spent many years with West becoming their captain
when Hyslop left. Later played for West Hartlepool Expansion.
7. D Larkin
Height 5ft 11 weight 10st 12 age 21. Outside right. Previously on books of Belle Vue Athletic. 1st season with West. Later played for West Hartlepool Expansion, Hartlepools United, and West Hartlepool St. Joseph’s. Later in his career he converted to half-back.
8. W Fairweather
Middlesbrough born, height 5ft 9 ½. Inside right. Previously with Stockton Trinity and Darlington St.
Augustine’s. 1st season with West.
9. A Robinson
Age 22 height 5ft 8 weight 10st 9 . Centre Forward. Previously with Stranton Parish Church Club. 1st season
with West. Later played for Stockport County, Carlisle Unted and Sheffield United.
10. Otto L Trechmann
Weight 12st 6 height 6ft 0 ½ age 21. Born in West Hartlepool , studying at Clare College, Cambridge – ex-public
schoolboy who also played for Old Carthusians. Later played for Middlesbrough, the famous Corinthian Casuals,
and West Hartlepool St Aidan’s.
11. Robert Hodgson
23 year old, height 5ft 7 ½ weight 10st 10. Could play in every position up front. 5th season with club.
Previously with Temperance Rovers. Later appeared for Hartlepools United.
